What is the camp?
From 08.09.25 to 14.09.25 the camp will again take place parallel to the IAA in Munich.
With our “Mobility Transition Camp Munich” we want to make solidarity practice directly tangible and want to be an educational offer and networking element for the climate movement. Utopias of a more democratic and fairer world are to be further developed here and put into practice. The camp will offer camping facilities, toilets, kitchens and support structures for around 1,500 people.
You can also expect exciting workshops, delicious food, good music and above all: very nice people. Come along! We look forward to suggestions, questions, discussions and every helping hand, and to seeing you (again).
The construction starts on 05.09.25 and the dismantling starts on 14.09.25 and ends on 17.09.25.
What can you expect at the camp?
- Extensive workshop program
- Music and other acts
- Good food
- A wide variety of guests with panel discussions, lectures and entertainment
- Nice, open people who fight together for a solidarity-based mobility transition and exchange ideas
How do we live together at the camp?
- We organize ourselves and take responsibility for the camp together - we do the work (chopping, cleaning toilets, disposing of garbage, night shifts) together, there is no service provider
- Camp life is organized together in the morning plenary session
- We want to make sure that everyone feels comfortable and treat each other respectfully, empathetically and benevolently
Why does the camp exist?
The year 2025 is a tough one: We will miss the 1.5 degree target, right-wing movements in Germany are as strong as they were 80 years ago, due to the weakening economy, the social divide in Germany is threatening to widen further, and left-wing movements are being systematically discredited in an overheated political discourse.
This year, the “International Automobile Exhibition” (IAA) is taking place in Munich. Under the motto “Mobility”, the city and its public space are being used as a cheap showcase by the car industry for the third time. But we do not want to let the profit-driven car industry have the power to interpret the future of mobility. That is why we are holding the Mobility Transition Camp in Luitpoldpark again in 2025. Here you will find space for information, lectures and discussions on the topics of environment and sustainability. We want to counteract the current shift to the right, which is why the camp program this year is increasingly devoted to civil society, resistance to the right and disinformation.
How is the camp organized?
The mobility transition camp is a collective and independent space. We organize ourselves and do not employ any service providers. The camp is therefore only run by volunteers. Specifically, by helping with setting up and dismantling on site, by taking on volunteer work in the camp, and by organizing in advance. We are therefore always open to your support. Here you can find out more about how you can support us.
